The 2026 Ohio State Fair happening from July 29 through August 9 at the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds in Columbus, Ohio, is one of Ohio’s best summer traditions.

1. Buy Your Tickets Before You Go

One of the easiest ways to save money is purchasing admission online before the fair starts. The following are 2026 Ohio State Fair admission prices.

  • $9 single-day
  • $24 three-day
  • $84 all 12 days

Gate admission

  • $13 Adults (ages 13-59)
  • $10 Youth (ages 6-12)
  • $10 Senior (ages 60+)
  • FREE Kids under 5
  • FREE Veterans, military, and first responders (with valid ID)

2. Purchase Ride Wristbands Early

If your family plans on riding several rides, don’t buy individual tickets. Instead, purchase an Advance Ride-All-Day Wristband.

3. Visit on NBC4 Family Discount Day

One of the best days for families to visit and get the most for their money is Monday, August 3, 2026.

Special discounts include:

  • Adults pay the kids admission price
  • Kids 12 and under get in FREE
  • Discounted rate of $20 for Ride-All-Day Wristbands until 5pm

If your schedule is flexible, this is one of the cheapest days to visit.

4. Donate to Receive a BOGO Admission Voucher

On Friday, August 7, 2026, you can receive a BOGO admission ticket when you bring the one of the following “wish list’ items to the booth outside the admission gates.

These items include: canned chicken, tuna, or vegetables, pasta, salad dressing (ranch, Italian, French, balsamic), barbecue sauce, paper towels, resealable plastic baggies (sandwich, quart, snack, gallon, freezer), aerosol disinfectant spray, or disinfectant wipes.

Each donating participant will receive a voucher good for BOGO free admission ticket before 6pm.

5. Take Advantage of $3 Thursdays

Food is one of the biggest expenses at the fair. On Thursday, July 30 and Thursday, August 6, vendors offer smaller portions of select menu items for just $3.

It’s a great way to sample multiple foods without spending a fortune.

6. Visit on College Student Day for a Discount

If you’re a college student attending college or post-secondary career or technical school, you can receive a discounted admission for just $10 when you show a valid student ID at the admission gate. It’s also $3 Thursday, so you can enjoy smaller portions of select fair foods for just $3.

8. Park at Columbus State and Ride the Free Shuttle

Instead of paying to park at the fairgrounds, park at Columbus State Community College and take the free shuttle to the Ohio Gate.

It’s an easy way to save on parking while avoiding some of the traffic around the fairgrounds.

9. Bring a Refillable Water Bottle

Buying drinks throughout the day can become one of the biggest expenses, especially on hot days. Water bottles are allowed to be brought into the Ohio State fair as long as plastic or metal. No glass containers are allowed. There are water bottle refilling stations located across the fairgrounds.

10. Pack a Lunch or Bring Snacks

Instead of eating at the Ohio State Fair, pack your own food and snacks to save money. Small, soft-sided coolers and backpacks are allowed but will be checked at the gates. No glass containers, bottles or jars are allowed.
