Cuyahoga Falls has become one of Northeast Ohio’s best small city food destinations. Every time I visit I feel like a new place to eat appears. There are plenty of great places to eat from cozy brunch cafés, riverfront patios, breweries and farm to table restaurants.

Here are some of the best places to eat in Cuyahoga Falls that locals and visitors shouldn’t miss.

Best Breakfast & Brunch

The Blue Door Café and Bakery

The Blue Door Café and Bakery is known for its homemade pastries, European style breads, and rotating seasonal brunch dishes.

Tip: Join the online waitlist! This place fills up quickly on weekends. They also take online orders to go.

What to try:

  • Croissants and pastries (I recommend the sticky bun croissant)
  • Sweet or savory brunch plates (I recommend the shrimp and grits)
  • Fresh seasonal specials

Best Riverfront Restaurants

Downtown front street has several restaurants but these ones are located near the river and walking paths.

Beau’s on the River

Located inside Sheraton Suites Akron/Cuyahoga Falls, this is one of the most scenic restaurants in the area.

What to try:

  • Stuffed salmon
  • Braised beef short ribs
  • Lobster & seafood pasta
  • Filet mignon & strip steak

Burntwood Tavern

One of the most popular spots along the riverfronts and offers comfort food and handcrafted cocktails. It’s a great place for brunch, lunch or dinner with a relaxed but polished atmosphere.

What to try:

  • Tavern burgers
  • Short ribs
  • Lobster bisque
  • Tavern Tater Tots (the best item on the menu)

Leo’s Italian Social

Located on Front Street, Leo’s Italian Social has a fun patio vibe and serves classic Italian favorites alongside craft cocktails.

Sarah’s Vineyard

The only winery located inside Cuyahoga Valley National Park that offers wine tastings alongside pizza and small plates.

This cocktail bar and lounge offers a large variety of handcrafted cocktails, rotating craft beers, shareables and appetizers.

What to try:

  • Flatbreads
  • Shareable appetizers

  • Any of their martinis (they are all so good)

Best Coffee Shop

Asterisk Coffee Bar

A favorite downtown stop for coffee, tea, specialty drinks and light bites. It’s a perfect spot to grab a morning coffee or a mid-day break while exploring Front Street.

  • Iced Honey Latte

Best Sweet Treats

Pav’s Creamery

A local favorite that serves classic flavors and seasonal specialties of ice cream, milkshakes (regular and adult) and cakes. This is the perfect spot to stop after dinner or on a warm summer evening walk by the river.
